HOW TO GET THAT WEDDING DAY GLOW

As we are at the peak of wedding season I wanted to share my tips to becoming a glowing bride!

First of all, SKIN. There is no such thing as glowing when you haven't properly prepared your base. There are things you can do months, weeks & days before to ensure your skin is on point.

FACIALS

Start by booking regular facials with an experienced esthetician. There is nothing more refreshing then when a facialist tells you exactly what your skin type is and how to take care of it to ensure the best possible condition. Of course, some skin types are much more stubborn and difficult but I know that personally for the past five or so years I have really struggled with my skin. It wasn't until I went to have my first facial where I actually discovered that I was infact extremely dehydrated rather than oily. I had been sucking out every last drop of moisture because I thought it was helping. This was not the case, it was actually drying my skin so horribly, therefore it was trying to compensate by producing more and more oil. Hydration SAVED me!!! I am such a huge believer that whatever the skin type, ALWAYS moisturize. My favorite cleanser is Korres Milk Cream Cleanser. It is hydrating but still gives a deep satisfying cleanse. It can be purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada.

SKINCARE ROUTINE

Having a regular skin care routine that you stick to is vital in order to see results. This includes cleansing, toning, exfoliating and MOISTURIZING! Can you tell how much I love moisture? You want to make sure that you are exfoliating atleast every 2-3 days. This will get rid of dead skin cells and reveal perfectly flawless complexion. I once heard a quote that said the difference between good skin and really great skin is exfoliating. An untrained eye may not see exactly what exfoliating can do but take it from me, having worked on so many faces I can always tell an exfoliator from a non-exfoliator.

UNWELCOME GUESTS

Noone likes when they wake up in the morning and discover another darn blemish. You are not alone. I grabbed this image from mariobadescu.com click here to read a highly informative article about taking care of acne and finally kicking it to the curb.

My favorite trick that I learned from my health-concious fiance, is to dab organic pure tea tree oil to your blemishes a few times a day. I have found this to be very effective. Try not to squeeze or irritate your blemishes, apply tea tree regularly, and let the light exfoliation do the work for you!

BROWS

Who is your brow crush? I have to admit that Cara Delevigne is mine... the modern day Brooke Shields. Eyebrows are so important, they frame the face! Makeup Artists have the power to pencil in any over plucked areas but the bulk of it starts with a great threading or waxing job! A must for your wedding day. I find threading to be extremely precise and quick, definitely my favorite method. I always tell my clients to ask their brow gal to clean up the brow area but still leave as full as possible! We loooooove full brows!
